Marina Pribaz is a ceramic artist who lives and works between suburban Melbourne and the forests of Daylesford, in the central highlands of Victoria. Her work explores this forest, internal landscapes, mythologies and psychological states.
Whilst undertaking her initial studies in painting, Marina was a practising nurse. This vocation gifted her a skill set in deep observation of the human psyche that has strongly influenced her perspective on life and art.
In the early 2000’s she moved to Daylesford, and went onto a Diploma of Ceramics at Ballarat University. She says, “somehow clay got under my skin, not only my fingernails”
Marina has regularly been selected for the Warrandyte Pottery Expo, and received the inaugural Michael Hallam Inca Award, sharing this prize twice since, alongside other artists.
In 2024, Marina was invited to be a Master at Clay Gulgong and returned in 2026 to teach the K-12 workshops. She has exhibited regularly throughout Sydney and Melbourne.
Marina is currently developing new work around the theme of the “Forest”, sculptural wall works and free-standing sculptures. She is continuing her exploration of fragility and resilience through the investigation of internal and external landscapes.
